Cheryl Lawson (Bezuidenhout) lives in BC, Canada, with her husband and son. She is a full-time writer whose main focus is science fiction.

Her science fiction novels are We Are Mars and Storm at Dawn, parts one and two of a three-part series, The Rubicon Saga, based on the adventures of a near future settlement on Mars. The third and final book in the saga, Break the Dark,  is due for release late 2020. Cheryl also writes short stories to expand on story elements from the Rubicon Saga. The short story series is entitled, The Rubicon Chronicles, and is an exclusive offering to her email subscribers.
Her non-fiction book, a manifesto of her career as a creative professional, is entitled Authentic Creativity, How to Make the Most of Your Creative Intent, Strategy & Perspective. It is penned under her married name, Cheryl Bezuidenhout. The book is an inspirational business book created to help people who pursue a creative career to understand how to be more effective in their careers.
Other written work by Cheryl includes two anthology acceptances (Black Hare Press Dark Drabbles and VSS 365).
Background:
Cheryl grew up in South Africa, moving to Canada in 2006 when her son was just a year old. The family settled in the lower mainland of BC, before moving, to the southern Interior in 2017. After a long career as a graphic designer, photographer and artist, Cheryl began pursuing writing, full-time, in 2014. She released her first non-fiction book in 2016. When she is not writing, Cheryl continues to pursue her passion for nature through her art and photography. In 2019, Cheryl exhibited a selection of water colour paintings at a Kamloops art gallery. She enjoys the outdoors, space, science and astronomy.
Cheryl is a member of the Kamloops Arts Council.
Cheryl briefly filled in as editor for the British Columbia Lapidary Society’s magazine, the Rockhounder, in 2018, and contributed articles to a business blogging site focused on women in business called She Owns It.
